Sharon Veatch, VAIMH President and Tracy Walters, State Coordinator for Virginia's Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Systems at DBHDS, hosted the 2022 annual VAIMH Meeting 10/21/2022.
Focus: Introduction to VAIMH, Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health, Return on Investment, ways we can support infants and young children and their families.

There is a strong body of research that demonstrates the lifelong, devastating effects of early childhood education (ECE) suspension and expulsion on infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, as well as its inequitable impact on Black, Indigenous, and other people/children of color (BIPOC).

Tracy Walters, State Coordinator for Virginia's Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Systems at the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), hosted a virtual welcome event for the 2022 IMH Cohort. Tracy introduced the new endorsees to VAIMH and discussed ways that the Association can intersect with their work as Infant Mental Health Endorsed Practitioners.

The Infant Mental Health and Attachment Course is a post-bachelor's degree professional development opportunity designed to enhance professional practice and understanding of early social and emotional development.
