4 Little Words
Allied Behavioral Health Solutions and AIMHiTN partnered with the Alliance to create and develop 5 video series to examine what it means to observe, listen, wonder, and respond when working with infants, young children, and their families. These "4 Little Words", coined by Deborah Weatherston, PhD, IMH-E®, have been a framework for many infant-young child and family professionals.
Addressing Suspension & Expulsion in Early Childhood Education Settings
There is a strong body of research that demonstrates the lifelong, devastating effects of early childhood education (ECE) suspension and expulsion on infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, as well as its inequitable impact on Black, Indigenous, and other people/children of color (BIPOC).
Attachment During Stress (ADS) Scale
A mental health screening instrument that provides indicators of mother/father/caretaker-infant attachment/interaction and screens for conditions such as lack of infant responsiveness in autism or parental avoidance in child neglect. The ADS scale is free for downloading and printing in English, French, and Spanish.
The Pyramid Model
is a positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) framework that uses systems-thinking and implementation science to promote evidence-based practices, and helps early educators build skills for supporting nurturing and responsive caregiving, create learning environments, provide targeted social-emotional skills, and support children with challenging behavior.
