This virtual workshop will introduce a relational model of reflective supervision based on attachment theory using the Circle of Security as a model for understanding supervisory dynamics. You will receive a brief overview of the attachment theory and the historical context of supervision while discussing the importance of ongoing supervision as a way to support frontline staff. You will learn strategies to mitigate the impact of secondary traumatic stress and burnout. You will consider the Supervisor’s Circle of Security that serves as a matrix model for supervisor-supervisee relationships, lending 16 possible attachment combinations for the dyad. Vignettes highlighting supervisory dynamics will offer opportunities for discussion.
